Quick answers

Frequently asked questions.

15 of the questions we get most often. If yours isn't here, give us a call or text โ€” we answer fast.

How long does window tinting take?

A standard sedan takes 2โ€“3 hours. SUVs and trucks 3โ€“4 hours. Tesla with panoramic roof: 4โ€“5 hours. Ceramic and full PPF installs may take longer. We give you an exact estimate at booking.

Is your tint legal in California?

Yes. California allows tint above the AS-1 line on the windshield (top 5 inches), no restriction on rear windows, and front side windows must allow more than 70% VLT. We'll walk you through legal options before installing โ€” we never sell illegal-dark tint without flagging the risk.

Do you offer a warranty?

Yes. Premium ceramic films from 3M, Llumar, and Suntek carry a lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading, and cracking. Standard films carry a 5-year warranty. PPF carries 10 years.

How much does ceramic tint cost?

Ceramic tint pricing depends on vehicle size, windows tinted, and film grade. Sedans typically start at $399, SUVs around $499, Tesla packages from $599. Our online configurator gives you an instant exact estimate.

Do you tint Teslas and EVs?

Absolutely โ€” it's one of our specialties. We have Tesla- and EV-specific tint packages designed for panoramic roofs, Model 3, Y, S, X, Cybertruck, Rivian, Lucid, Polestar, Mach-E, and most major EVs.

Can I drive my car right after tinting?

Yes โ€” but don't roll your windows down for 3โ€“5 days while the film cures. We give you full aftercare instructions on pickup.

What's the difference between dyed, metallic, and ceramic tint?

Dyed films absorb visible light (cheapest, basic darkening). Metallic films reflect heat with metal particles (better heat rejection but can interfere with cell signal). Ceramic uses non-conductive nano-ceramic particles โ€” best heat rejection, no signal interference, lifetime warranty.

How dark should I go?

Most LA drivers go 20โ€“35% VLT on rear and 70% on front (CA-legal). 5% (limo) is dramatic but tough at night. 50% is subtle. The configurator shows you exactly what each percentage looks like.

Will tint affect my defroster?

No, when installed properly. We avoid defroster grid contact during install and use films that don't trap heat against grid lines.

Can you remove old tint?

Yes. Tint removal runs $50โ€“$150 per vehicle depending on age and condition. Old film with degraded adhesive is harder; we use steam to loosen it without damaging glass.

Do you tint windshields?

Yes โ€” clear ceramic windshield films offer huge heat rejection without darkening visibility. CA-legal. The strip-only option is also very popular.

Is ceramic tint worth the price difference over standard?

If you keep your car more than 4 years and drive it daily in LA, yes โ€” every time. Standard tint will fade and need replacing in 5โ€“8 years. Ceramic lasts the life of the vehicle and saves you on AC. Long-term, ceramic costs less.

What about tint on a leased vehicle?

Tint comes off cleanly with heat โ€” no damage to glass, no residue. We've removed tint from countless lease returners with zero issues.

Can I see out at night with dark tint?

Yes, but darker films make it harder, especially below 20% VLT in unlit areas. We strongly recommend you not go darker than 20% on the rear if you drive at night frequently.

Do you do same-day appointments?

Yes โ€” most weekdays we have same-day or next-day availability. Saturdays book up fastest. Call to confirm.
