Clear armor

Paint Protection Film (PPF)

Self-healing clear film over your paint. Takes the rock chips, key marks, road grime, and light scratches so your factory paint never has to.

PPF โ€” also called 'clear bra' โ€” is a thick, optically clear urethane film bonded to your paint. The topcoat is hydrophobic and self-healing: minor scratches and swirls disappear with heat (sun, warm water, hot air). Heavy hits get absorbed by the film instead of chipping your paint.

Why bother with PPF?

If you've ever picked up a $5,000 estimate to repaint a hood after a single bad highway trip, you already know. PPF runs $899โ€“$5,000+ depending on coverage, lasts 7โ€“10 years, and is invisible when installed correctly.

Coverage options

  • Front-end package ($899+) โ€” Hood leading edge, fenders' leading edge, full bumper, side mirrors, headlights. Covers the highway-impact zone.
  • Full front ($1,899+) โ€” Full hood, full fenders, bumper, mirrors, headlights, A-pillars.
  • Track / full body ($4,500+) โ€” Full vehicle coverage. The works.
  • High-impact spots โ€” Door cups, rocker panels, rear arches behind the wheels โ€” common add-ons.

Self-healing in action

The PPF topcoat is engineered to flow back to its original shape when heated. Light swirls from a bad car wash, fingernail marks near door handles, branch scratches โ€” all gone after a few hours in the sun or 30 seconds with a heat gun.

What it doesn't do

PPF protects against impact, not abrasion. A truly violent rock or a deep keying will go through it. But the difference between 'paint chipped to metal' and 'film took the hit' is night and day.

Pricing: Front-end starts at $899. Full front $1,899. Full body $4,500+. Coverage scales with vehicle complexity.

Common questions

How long does PPF last?

Quality PPF (Suntek Ultra, XPEL Ultimate Plus, 3M Pro Series) carries a 10-year warranty. Realistically lasts 7โ€“10 years before needing replacement.

Can I wash my car normally?

Yes โ€” wait 7 days after install, then normal washing. Avoid pressure-washing edges directly. PPF actually makes washing easier (water beads off).

Will PPF damage my paint when removed?

No, when professionally installed. We remove and reinstall film all the time.

Is PPF the same as ceramic coating?

No โ€” they're complementary. PPF is a thick physical film for impact protection. Ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer for shine and easier cleaning. Many clients do both.
